Open Council Network is an independent organisation. We report on Islington and are not the council. About us
The Employment and Appointments Committee of Islington Council met on 9 March 2026 and approved the shortlist of candidates for the post of Corporate Director of Resources. The meeting also confirmed the minutes from previous meetings.
Shortlisting of Corporate Director of Resources
The committee approved the shortlist of candidates for the position of Corporate Director of Resources. This role is considered crucial for supporting the delivery of the council's missions and objectives, and the postholder will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the monitoring and delivery of the Islington Together 2030 Plan. The recruitment process adhered to the council's Constitution, Part 4 Procedure Rules – Officer Employment Rules. The salary range for the post was advertised as Grade CO1, between £132,823 and £159,330, with the financial implications covered by existing budgets. The report noted that an Equalities Impact Assessment Screening was completed, and a full assessment was not deemed necessary due to the established recruitment procedures. Interviews for the shortlisted candidates were scheduled to take place on 19 March 2026.
The committee members present were Councillor Anjna Khurana (Chair), Councillor Janet Burgess MBE, Councillor Troy Gallagher, and Councillor Flora Williamson. Councillor Una O'Halloran sent apologies for absence. The minutes from the previous meetings held on 14 October 2025 and 21 October 2025 were also agreed as an accurate record.
