The Planning and Development Control Committee meeting on 10 March 2026 saw the approval of several significant planning applications, including a large mixed-use redevelopment at Lots Road South, an extension to a leisure facility at 3 Shortlands, and the conversion of office space to an apart-hotel at 104 King Street. The committee also approved a variation to an existing apart-hotel application at La Reserve Hotel and the redevelopment of 81 Blythe Road for residential use. A temporary installation of welfare facilities at 153 Hurlingham Road was also granted permission.
Lots Road South Redevelopment Approved
The committee granted planning permission for the comprehensive redevelopment of the Lots Road South site, a project spanning the boundary between Hammersmith and Fulham and Kensington and Chelsea. The scheme will deliver 274 residential homes, including affordable housing and extra care units, alongside 2,015 sqm of commercial and community space. The development also includes public realm works and improvements to the Chelsea Creek wall for flood resilience and habitat enhancement. The decision was unanimous, subject to a satisfactory legal agreement and conditions.
3 Shortlands Leisure Facility Extension Approved
Planning permission was granted for the extension of the leisure facility at 3 Shortlands, Hammersmith Broadway. The approval includes a double-height single-storey rear extension with a roof terrace, an extension to the existing mezzanine, relocation of the gym entrance, and facade adjustments. Associated public realm and landscaping improvements along Hammersmith Road are also part of the plan. The decision was unanimous, subject to a satisfactory legal agreement and conditions.
104 King Street Office to Apart-Aparthotel Conversion Approved
The committee approved the change of use of part of the existing office accommodation at 104 King Street, Hammersmith Broadway, to an apart-hotel. The apart-hotel will provide 68 rooms, including accessible units, and will feature on-site laundry and a breakfast area. The decision was unanimous, subject to a satisfactory legal agreement and conditions.
La Reserve Hotel Variation Approved
A variation of conditions for the La Reserve Hotel at 422-428 Fulham Road, Walham Green, was approved. The amendments allow for an increase in the size of the approved basement, minor alterations to the elevational treatment and footprint of the building, and retrospective approval for some basement construction. The decision was by a vote of 4 to 2, with Councillor Adrian Pascu-Tulbure abstaining from the vote due to missing a significant portion of the officer presentation.
81 Blythe Road Residential Redevelopment Approved
The committee unanimously approved the redevelopment of 81 Blythe Road, Brook Green, which involves the demolition of the existing vacant office building and the construction of five new residential terraced houses. The development will include associated cycle parking, utility stores, and amenity space. The decision was unanimous, subject to conditions and a legal agreement.
153 Hurlingham Road Temporary Portacabin Installation Approved
Permission was granted for the temporary installation of welfare and office facilities in portacabins at 153 Hurlingham Road. These facilities are required to support the construction works for an approved care home development at 160-164 Hurlingham Road. The temporary use is intended to shorten the overall construction programme and reduce disruption. The decision was unanimous, subject to conditions ensuring the temporary nature of the use and site reinstatement.
The meeting also included discussions and approvals for other planning applications, with detailed conditions and legal agreements attached to each approval to ensure compliance with local and national planning policies.
