The Cabinet meeting of Tower Hamlets Council on Tuesday 24 March 2026 addressed a wide range of issues, including significant regeneration projects, budget monitoring, and the council's commitment to equality and diversity. Key decisions included the approval of a 30-year lease for Mudchute Farm and Park, the addition of the Boundary Estate Community Launderette to the Community Premises Portfolio, and the renewal of a lease for the Highway Clubs Charity. The meeting also reviewed the Strategic Delivery and Performance Report, noting a decrease in 'green' performance indicators and an increase in 'amber' indicators, alongside seven 'red' indicators. A new task and finish group was agreed to address consistently underperforming indicators. The Best Start Family Hubs Programme received approval for commissioning, and the redevelopment of Whitechapel Leisure Centre was advanced with the appointment of a design team. Finally, the Cabinet reviewed the Quarter 3 Budget Monitoring report, noting an £18.6 million General Fund overspend, and noted the Record of Corporate Director's Actions.
