Lancashire Combined County Authority - Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 28th July, 2025 3.00 pm
The Lancashire Combined County Authority (LCCA) Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss its role and responsibilities, and to agree on a definition and threshold for key decisions. The committee approved the proposed definition of a key decision and set the financial threshold at £500,000, with a commitment to review the threshold at the next meeting. Members also discussed potential areas for scrutiny, including the Lancashire Growth Plan, skills agenda, and transport.
Full Council - Thursday, 17th July, 2025 1.00 pm
Lancashire County Council's Full Council met on 17 July 2025, and among other things, approved the Lancashire Child and Youth Justice Plan 2025-26, and agreed to review its policy on flying flags over council property, prioritising the Union Flag, the Flag of England, the Lancashire Flag, royal flags, and military flags and ensigns. The council also discussed the financial challenges it faces, and heard questions from councillors and members of the public.
Company Member Cabinet Committee - Thursday, 26th June, 2025 11.00 am
The Lancashire County Council's Company Member Cabinet Committee convened on 26 June 2025, and addressed several key issues related to the council's oversight of its owned companies. The committee approved a new conflict of interest protocol for directors, endorsed officer appointments to these companies, and agreed to resign from Growth Lancashire Limited. They also reviewed best practice guidance for local authority companies and approved the updated work programme for 2025/26.
Cabinet - Thursday, 5th June, 2025 2.00 pm
Lancashire County Council's Cabinet met on 5 June 2025, and approved a number of measures including the allocation of the Growing Places Fund monies to the Lancashire Combined County Authority, and a review of the council's financial management. They also approved the closure of the sixth form at Moor Park High School.
Annual General Meeting, Full Council - Thursday, 22nd May, 2025 1.00 pm
At the Full Council meeting on 22 May 2025, Lancashire County Council elected Councillor Alf Clempson as Chairman and Councillor Lee Hutchinson as Vice-Chairman. The council also re-elected Councillor Stephen Atkinson as Leader of the County Council, who then announced his cabinet. Councillors approved the Constitution of the County Council for 2025/26 and the membership of various committees, as well as appointments to outside bodies including the Lancashire Combined Fire Authority.
