Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Wednesday 17 September 2025 2.00 pm
The Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee met on 17 September, and among the topics discussed were updates on walking and cycling schemes, the A46 project, highways maintenance, school keep clear zones, economic development, and the integrated performance report. Councillor Jennifer Warren will write to the leader of the council to ask him to clarify his comments on cycling. The committee also agreed to add monitoring progress on the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) to their work programme.
Warwickshire Waste Partnership - Wednesday 3 September 2025 2.00 pm
The Warwickshire Waste Partnership met on Wednesday 3 September 2025, to discuss waste management performance data, updates on the Resources and Waste Strategy for England, and updates from waste partners. The Partnership was asked to note the provisional waste management data for the first quarter of 2025/26, and to acknowledge updates on waste activities taking place in each area since the last meeting. Councillor Darren Cheshire, Portfolio Holder for Environment, Heritage and Culture, was scheduled to chair the meeting.
Regulatory Committee - Tuesday 2 September 2025 10.30 am
The Warwickshire Council Regulatory Committee met on 2 September 2025 to discuss appointments to external bodies. The committee approved the nomination of Councillor Dale Keeling to the West Midlands Combined Authority Audit Risk and Assurance Committee. An amendment to instead vote on the nomination of Councillor Michael Bannister to the Nuneaton BID[^2] was not approved, meaning that Councillor Keith Kondakor remains the appointment to the Nuneaton BID.
Regulatory Committee - Tuesday 5 August 2025 10.30 am
The Warwickshire County Council Regulatory Committee met to discuss the extension of an in-vessel composting facility, as well as the restoration of a landfill site, both located at Ufton Landfill Site. Councillors voted to extend the life of the composting facility until 2038 and approved a variation to conditions relating to the landfill site, extending the deadline for restoration. The committee also approved appointments to external bodies.
County Council - Tuesday 22 July 2025 10.00 am
The meeting of the Warwickshire County Council on 22 July 2025 included a debate on developer contributions to the School Lane Junction scheme, which was ultimately deferred, and a tied vote on the appointment of political assistants, which was decided by the Chair's casting vote. The council also discussed additions to the education capital programme, the Audit and Standards Committee annual report, and a motion supporting the climate emergency declaration.
