The Strategic Planning Committee met on 20 October 2025, and approved plans for the redevelopment of the Curry Rise and Bray Road Estate, the expansion of Hasmonean High School, and the redevelopment of Stanhope House and Holmsdale House. All three applications were approved unanimously, subject to conditions and Section 106 agreements, and will be referred to the Mayor of London due to their strategic importance.

The Barnet Safer Communities Partnership Board convened to discuss crime and community safety initiatives in the borough. Key topics included a performance update with a focus on domestic abuse and violence against women and girls (VAWG), safeguarding adults, combating drug-related issues, and updates from Barnet Homes. The board endorsed the Domestic Abuse and VAWG Strategy 2025-2029, which outlines the borough's commitment to preventing and responding to these issues.

At a meeting of the Strategic Planning Committee, Barnet Council resolved to approve plans for a new hotel in West Finchley, and for reserved matters relating to a residential development adjacent to Finchley Memorial Hospital. The committee agreed to conditions for the Shakespeare Road development relating to public realm improvements, fenestration, and vehicle servicing, and for the Finchley Memorial Hospital development relating to urban design and secure design.

The Strategic Planning Committee of Barnet Council approved an outline planning application for the redevelopment of the Broadwalk Shopping Centre in Edgware, including the bus station, bus garage, Redhill Clinic and Deansbrook Nature Reserve. The decision is subject to referral to the Mayor of London and a Section 106 agreement. A motion to defer the application was rejected.
