Welsh Harp Joint Consultative Committee - Monday 25th November, 2024 6.00 pm
This meeting was about the ongoing management of the Welsh Harp. Updates on the key work being done was scheduled to be provided by officers from both Barnet and Brent Councils, and a verbal update on the most recent work undertaken by the Canal and River Trust was also scheduled.
Strategic Planning Committee - Wednesday 13th November, 2024 7.00 pm
The committee voted unanimously to grant planning permission to Astir Brent Cross West Limited for the demolition of the existing buildings at Unit 7, Staples Corner Retail Park and erect a 28 storey building in its place. The permission is subject to a Section 106 Agreement being completed within 3 months and several planning conditions being met, and will also be referred to the Mayor of London.
Council - Tuesday 15th October, 2024 7.00 pm
The meeting began with a series of speeches on the topic of Black History Month and then moved on to approve the minutes of the previous meeting held on 9 July 2024, note the contents of a number of reports, appoint new officers, and approve a new constitution for the council. Two motions were debated and voted on: a motion to celebrate the achievements of the Labour administration, which was carried, and a motion to regret the government's decision to means-test Winter Fuel Allowance, which was lost.
Strategic Planning Committee - Monday 14th October, 2024 7.00 pm
The Strategic Planning Committee voted to grant planning permission for the redevelopment of Intec House on Moxon Street in High Barnet by 6 votes to 2. This was the committee's third time considering plans for the site, following a previous approval in November 2023 and a refusal in July 2024.
Safer Communities Partnership Board - Friday 20th September, 2024 10.00 am
The Safer Communities Partnership Board noted all of the reports it considered. The Board heard updates on the use of CCTV, levels of Prevent referrals and work done to tackle anti-social behaviour. The meeting also included a discussion of a number of issues relating to the work of the Family Services, Serious Violence Duty, Combating Drugs Partnership and Hate Crime teams.
