The Governance, Audit, Risk Management and Standards Committee (GARMS) met on Monday 20 July 2026 to review the draft Statement of Accounts for 2025-26 and the associated audit strategy. The committee also discussed the Culture, Environment and Economy Directorate's risk register, treasury management outturn, annual housing complaints report, annual health and safety report, internal audit and risk management annual report, and the Corporate Anti-Fraud Team's annual report.

The Council meeting on 2 July 2026 saw significant debate on government planning reforms, with the Council ultimately resolving to oppose the proposed changes that would diminish the role of planning committees. A long-service award was presented to Councillor Paul Osborn, recognising his 25 years of dedication to the council.

The Cabinet of Harrow Council convened on Thursday 11 June 2026, addressing a range of key decisions including the re-procurement of domestic gas heating servicing and maintenance, the adoption of an Article 4 Direction to control Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs), and the extension of contracts for highways and street lighting works. Councillor Yogesh Teli was elected as the new Mayor of Harrow for the 2026-2027 municipal year. Councillor Marilyn Ashton was appointed as the Deputy Leader of the Council. The meeting also saw the confirmation of committee memberships and the appointment of chairs to various council committees.
