Annual Council - Thursday, 15th May, 2025 7.15 pm

At the Annual Council meeting, Councillor Jason Jackson was elected as Mayor of Islington, becoming the first black man to hold the post. Councillor Rosalyn Ngongoro was appointed as Deputy Mayor, and councillors were assigned to various committees and outside organisations. The council also formally appointed Paul Clarke as Interim Section 151 Officer[^1].

Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 29th April, 2025 7.30 pm

Councillor Jilani Chowdhury, Chair of the Health, Wellbeing and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee, oversaw a meeting where the committee reviewed performance updates from the Whittington Hospital and University College London Hospitals (UCLH), discussed quality assurance in home care, and considered the Adult Social Care (ASC) Quarter 3 performance report. The committee also approved draft recommendations from a scrutiny review.

Employment and Appointments Committee - Thursday, 17th April, 2025 9.00 am

The Employment and Appointments Committee convened to appoint a Director of Education and Achievement, recommend two candidates as Independent Persons for Standards to the council, and delegate authority to the Chair to recommend candidates for Co-Opted Members of the Audit and Risk Committee.

The Employment and Appointments Committee met to consider shortlisting candidates for the position of Director of Education and Achievement. The agenda also included the minutes of previous meetings for review.

Audit and Risk Committee - Monday, 24th March, 2025 7.00 pm

The Audit and Risk Committee convened to discuss the council's financial position, review and approve the draft annual internal audit plan for 2025-26, and set the scope for future deep dives into areas of potential risk. The committee approved the Internal Audit Strategy, the Internal Audit Charter, and the Draft 2025/26 Annual Internal Audit Plan.
