The Staffordshire Council Planning Committee met on Thursday, October 2, 2025, to discuss three planning applications. Councillors voted to refuse an application for a clinical waste treatment facility in Hickson, and approved applications relating to Hintz Quarry in Tamworth, and Cauldon Cement Works in Earlsway.
Children and Families Strategic Partnership - Tuesday 30th September 2025 2:00pm
The Children and Families Strategic Partnership Board convened to discuss and approve the draft Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Alternative Provision (AP) Strategy for 2026-2029, receive the Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (SSCP) Annual Report 2024-25, and review the Children and Young People's Plan. The board approved the SEND and AP Strategy, subject to minor amendments, and accepted the SSCP Annual Report.
Property Sub-Committee - Wednesday 17th September 2025 2:00pm
The Staffordshire Council Property Sub-Committee met on Wednesday to discuss the lease of Blythe Bridge Library. The committee approved the letting of the library premises to Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) for a five-year term at a peppercorn rent. The aim is for MPFT to run the library as a community managed facility.
Countryside and Rights of Way Panel - Friday 12th September 2025 10:00am
The Countryside and Rights of Way Panel met to discuss a request to authorise the making of a definitive map modification order, and an application to upgrade several public footpaths to byways open to all traffic (boats) or restricted byways. The panel voted to delegate authority to make definitive map modification orders to the Director of Finance and Resources. They also voted to approve some of the requested upgrades to public footpaths, and reject others.
Property Sub-Committee - Wednesday 20th August 2025 12:00pm
The Staffordshire Council Property Sub-Committee convened to discuss land transfers for St. Bernadette's Catholic Primary School and St. Joseph's Catholic Primary School, as well as a lease variation for Alleyne's Academy Stone. The committee approved the transfer of land for both primary schools to the Birmingham Roman Catholic Diocese trustees. Additionally, they approved a variation of the academy lease for Alleyne's Academy Stone to permit subletting of a portion of the site to Stone Old Alleynians Football Club.
