Hackney Council decided that Cllr Nisa Sharif be elected to the office of Deputy Speaker for the Municipal Year 2026/27. This decision was made on 28/05/2026.

The Council of Hackney Council approved recommendations on 28/05/2026. The decision noted the composition of Cabinet, appointments of Cabinet and Deputy Cabinet Members, the establishment and appointments to Cabinet committees, and the Elected Mayor’s Scheme of Delegation for 2026/2027. Delegated authority was granted to the Council’s Monitoring Officer to make consequential changes to the Council’s Constitution.
