The Local Review Body met on Monday 15 June 2026 to consider several planning appeals. The committee upheld the appointed officer's decision to refuse an application for a dwellinghouse and garage on land east of Roundel Station Road, Gordon, citing concerns about landscape impact and the loss of prime agricultural land. Similarly, an appeal for a dwellinghouse west of Nenthorn House, Nenthorn, was refused due to concerns about its relationship to the existing building group, its impact on the designed landscape, and its prominence in the rural area. In contrast, the appeal for the conversion of a barn west of Oakwood House, Allanton, into a dwellinghouse was overturned, with the committee approving the proposal subject to conditions.

The Local Review Body considered three planning appeals, ultimately upholding the council's refusal for an agricultural storage shed with a games room near Grantshouse, but overturning refusals for a dwellinghouse at Hassendean Station and for two new dwellings at Hume. The Body also decided to uphold the council's refusal for a boundary fence at Thorniedean House in Galashiels.
