The Local Review Body is scheduled to consider several requests for reviews of planning application refusals. These include proposals for new dwellinghouses in rural locations, the conversion of a barn into a dwelling, and alterations to an existing dwelling.

Local Review Body - Tuesday, 19 May 2026 - 2.00 pm

The Local Review Body considered three planning appeals, ultimately upholding the council's refusal for an agricultural storage shed with a games room near Grantshouse, but overturning refusals for a dwellinghouse at Hassendean Station and for two new dwellings at Hume. The Body also decided to uphold the council's refusal for a boundary fence at Thorniedean House in Galashiels.

The Local Review Body considered three planning appeals, upholding the refusal of two applications for new dwellings in the countryside due to concerns about building group capacity and road safety, and deferring a third application for further consideration by the appointed officer due to new information.

The Local Review Body considered three requests to review previous refusals. Two applications for new dwellings in the countryside were refused, and one application for a coffee stop was also refused.
