Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Thursday, 30th January, 2025 6.30 pm
This meeting of the Overview and Scrutiny committee will include discussions on the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) budget and the implications for the council tax and the Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) of Royal Borough of Greenwich. The committee will also be presented with an update on the Forward Plan, which outlines upcoming key decisions and provides opportunities for scrutiny.
Council - Wednesday, 29th January, 2025 7.00 pm
The Council agreed to reduce the maximum level of support available through the Local Council Tax Support Scheme 2025-26 from 100% to 80% and agreed to reduce the time before charging a Council Tax Premium to unfurnished and unoccupied properties from 2 years to 12 months. They also noted the appointment of Councillor Sandra Bauer as the new Cabinet Member for Equality, Culture and Communities, and voted to adopt a motion on protecting leaseholders from the cost of fire safety remediation work.
Planning Board - Tuesday, 14th January, 2025 6.30 pm
The meeting unanimously resolved to grant planning permission for applications on two sites at 81-88 Beresford Street. The sites are part of the large Royal Arsenal Riverside development. The first application was to extend an existing student accommodation block. The second was to convert existing offices into a new student accommodation block and a hotel.
Planning Board - Tuesday, 10th December, 2024 6.30 pm
The meeting discussed three planning applications, resulting in the approval of reserved matters for a development at the Royal Arsenal, a new SEND school in Eltham, and the removal of affordable housing from a development in Charlton.
Transport and Place Scrutiny Panel - Thursday, 5th December, 2024 6.30 pm
This meeting was scheduled to include updates on how the council manages its highways assets, and the risks associated with them. Councillors were also scheduled to be provided with an update on the council’s 10-year regeneration plan and hear about several of the capital projects underway in the borough.
