Outcome of the statutory notice on a proposal to amalgamate Yeadon Westfield Infant and Junior Schools

The governing body of Yeadon Westfield Infant School is proposing to change the age range of the school from 3-7 years to 3-11 years with effect from 1 September 2026. The governing body of Yeadon Westfield Junior School is proposing to discontinue (close) the school with effect from 31 August 2026. These proposed alterations are a joint proposal from the governing bodies of Yeadon Westfield Infant and Junior Schools (which are maintained Foundation schools) to amalgamate the two schools into Yeadon Westfield Primary School (3-11 years) from 1 September 2026. The Infant School would become a primary school whilst Yeadon Westfield Junior School would discontinue (close) with effect from 31 August 2026. Whilst the Governors of both schools are proposing the amalgamation, the final decision rests with the Council.

Outcome of the Statutory Notice on a Proposal to establish a resource provision at Cookridge Primary School

Following an initial public consultation with all stakeholders, a statutory notice period has taken place on a proposal to establish a 12 place (increasing to 16 place) resource provision for pupils with speech, language and communication needs at Cookridge Primary School from September 2026. This notice period will run for 4 weeks from Monday 27th April until Sunday 24th May 2026. Executive Board is asked to note the outcome of the statutory notice and make a final decision on the proposal.
