The Scrutiny Commission of Leicestershire County Council met on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, to discuss the provisional Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) for 2026/27 to 2029/30. The meeting also included a review of the draft revised Investing in Leicestershire Programme Portfolio Management Strategy for 2026 to 2030.

Highways, Transport and Waste Overview and Scrutiny Committee - Thursday, 22 January 2026 2.00 pm

The Highways, Transport and Waste Overview and Scrutiny Committee was scheduled to discuss the council's Medium Term Financial Strategy for 2026/27 to 2029/30, review the approach to assessing and justifying pedestrian crossings, and receive an update on the Melton Mowbray Distribution Road project. The committee was also set to consider the Healthy Streets approach to urban planning.

County Council - Wednesday, 3 December 2025 2.00 pm

The Leicestershire County Council was scheduled to meet on 3 December 2025 to discuss a range of topics, including the annual delivery report, revisions to the council's constitution, and a number of notices of motion. The council was also expected to appoint a new Chief Executive and Head of Paid Service.

Constitution Committee - Monday, 24 November 2025 10.00 am

The Constitution Committee convened to review the Annual Governance Statement (AGS) and the Constitution, recommending approval for both with a minor amendment to the latter. The 2024-25 AGS was approved, and the Director of Corporate Resources was authorised to make necessary updates aligning with the finalised Statement of Accounts and Pension Fund, with changes reported to the Corporate Governance Committee and the Leader. Proposed changes to the Constitution were recommended for approval by the County Council, pending a change to Article 6.06.

(Extraordinary meeting), County Council - Wednesday, 12 November 2025 2.00 pm

The Leicestershire County Council convened an extraordinary meeting to address the critical matter of local government reorganisation (LGR). The primary focus was to allow the County Council to comment on the proposals for LGR, with a supplementary report containing a draft Business Case also provided. Councillors were also expected to discuss the comments of the Scrutiny Commission on the proposals.
