Corporate Performance - approach and indicators

A new Performance Management Framework which sets out how the council intends to manage organisation performance has been considered. As part of this, refreshed corporate performance indicators are proposed to track the council’s progress with the Corporate plan 2024-28.

AI Policy

To bring forward an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy for the organisation.   The policy has been created to outline the council’s AI governance, responsibilities, risk management and operational processes. It applies to all council officers, Councillors, contractors and subcontractors.    The policy has been subject to 30 day consultation with staff and the council’s recognised trade unions.   Following consideration at the General Purposes Committee, the policy has now been reviewed by the Cabinet.

Cremator & Mercury Abatement Service & Maintenance Contract

...to ensure the continued operation and regulatory compliance of the Thanet Crematorium, they approved the use of the YPO framework to award a ten-year, £835,590 (+VAT) service and maintenance contract to Facultatieve Technologies Limited for the cremator and mercury abatement systems.

Asset Management Disposal of Surplus Property

...to approve the open market disposal of the Tivoli Road asset, not to approve the disposal of Pierremont Park Depot by public auction and to exclude the access road from any disposal, and to support the transfer of the Broadstairs War Memorial to Broadstairs and St. Peter’s Town Council at nil value.

Notice of Motion Regarding Violence Against Women and Girls in Thanet

Council considered a Notice of Motion to address Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) in Thanet at its meeting on 27 February 2025 and following debate decided the motion should be forwarded to Cabinet. The motion requested 7 actions:   1.  Revisiting the aims and visions of TDC’s 2023 VAWG Strategy; 2.  Promoting a Women’s Safety Charter; 3.  Leveraging Licensing Tools; 4.  Making Women’s Safety Central to Planning and Development; 5.  Improving education and raising awareness about VAWG and healthy relationships; 6.  Tackling reporting and enforcement issues; 7.  Working efficiently and transparently for all.
