About

The Planning Committee is a regulatory body of Thanet Council with decision-making powers, responsible for determining significant planning applications under various Acts, including the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and the Listed Buildings Act 1990. It also handles enforcement functions, matters related to public rights of way, hedgerows, tree preservation, and administers building regulations for existing and proposed structures. While the committee makes decisions on major applications, other planning applications are delegated to planning officers.
