The Devon County Council meeting on 28 May 2026 saw the election of a new Chair and Vice-Chair, Councillor Caroline Leaver and Councillor Syed Jusef respectively, and the appointment of Councillor Julian Brazil as Leader and Councillor Paul Arnott as Deputy Leader. The council also approved the appointment of various committees and their chairs and vice-chairs, including a new Scrutiny Committee focused on local government reorganisation.

Farms Estate Committee - Tuesday, 19 May 2026 - 2.00 pm

The Farms Estate Committee met on Tuesday 19 May 2026 to discuss financial monitoring, the annual report, farm rental payment dates, and management and restructuring issues. Key decisions included amending farm tenancy agreements to require rent payments in advance via direct debit, and approving the amalgamation and re-letting of farms in Woolsery and West Putford, as well as granting a temporary extension to a tenancy at East Fingle Farm.

East Devon Highways and Traffic Orders Committee - Friday, 20th March, 2026 10.30 am

The East Devon Highways and Traffic Orders Committee met on Friday 20 March 2026 to discuss several key issues, including the Rydon Lane Green Lane update and the Exmouth Placemaking Plan. The committee ultimately decided not to approve the proposed amendments to the Rydon Lane Traffic Regulation Order, opting instead to maintain the existing restrictions. They did, however, endorse the Exmouth Placemaking Plan and Strategic Outline Business Case.
