The Newham Health and Wellbeing Board met to discuss a range of health initiatives and strategies, including updates on the Newham Health Equity Programme, action on diet-related diseases, and a London-wide campaign to improve heart health. The board approved the Better Care Fund 2025-26 submission and narrative plan, and discussed integrated neighbourhood teams.

The Health and Wellbeing Board met on Monday 7 October 2024 to discuss critical issues affecting the health and wellbeing of Newham residents. Key topics included the future of maternity and neonatal services in North East London, the impact of diet-related diseases, and initiatives to improve health literacy and equity across the borough. Decisions were made to note the production of a patient information leaflet and to review the strategic approach to maternity and neonatal care.

The Health and Wellbeing Board of Newham Council was scheduled to discuss the Better Care Fund, an update on SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) improvements, and strategic approaches to meeting the needs of the Newham population. Other items on the agenda included noting the HealthWatch Newham Annual Report, annual reports on safeguarding partnerships, and a response to recommendations from a scrutiny commission report on maternity services. The board was also scheduled to review an early draft of the 50 Steps 2.0 strategy.
