The Mayoral Combined Authority Board noted the decisions and delegations made on 27 October 2026. The Board approved the appointment of consultants for Commercial Street Bridge, Colas Rail for rail repairs, WSP for bus shelter improvements, and Vodafone for underground services. They also approved procurement for a DTS Solutions Architect, increased a contract for Mass Transit project services, appointed project managers, approved refurbishment of Nunnery Square Supertram Depot, and awarded funding for a unified regional narrative. Further decisions included variations to contracts for the Made Smarter programme, a contract extension for citizen experience work, grant awards to Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council and Sheffield City Council, and approval for Meadowhall Park & Ride expansion. Additionally, they approved procurement evaluators for bus franchising, a Career Hub Core Grant, and extended contracts for Hitachi Technology.

The Mayoral Combined Authority Board of South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority approved the proposed Transport for City Regions programme and thematic investment approach on 27/10/2026. This endorsement is subject to the completion of detailed programme development work before submission to the Government. The decision includes endorsing a programme with thematic investment areas such as Airport Connectivity, Safer Roads, Public Transport Enhancements, Tram Extensions and Enhancements, Infrastructure to Unlock Development, Transport Network Maintenance, Better Neighbourhoods, and Strategic and Local Rail Improvements.

The Mayoral Combined Authority Board approved the publication of 26 headline metrics and a phased approach to refresh the South Yorkshire Outcomes Framework on 27/10/2026. Amendments were made to three metrics: 'footfall in towns and cities' became 'Number of visitors to towns and cities', 'number of properties protected by flood schemes' became 'number of properties at risk of flooding', and 'biodiversity net gain' became 'biodiversity net gain and habitat condition'.

The Mayoral Combined Authority Board of South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority Council approved the minutes of the meeting held on 15th September 2026. The Board endorsed the South Yorkshire Strategy and the proposed collective impact implementation approach. They also noted the Government's allocation of £85m of City Densification Funding to South Yorkshire and endorsed the programme approach.

The Mayoral Combined Authority Board of South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority Council approved the purchase of the airport site and surrounding land on 27/10/2026. The Board granted delegated authority to the MCA’s Chief Executive to agree full terms of the acquisition, provide landlord consent, and agree lease amendments. The Board also approved the MCA taking a controlling shareholder position in FDL, a proposed revolving credit facility to FDL, and revisions to the MCA’s Treasury Management Strategy.
