The Mayoral Combined Authority Board of South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority Council approved the minutes of the meeting held on 14 July 2026. The Board noted the financial position at the outturn of financial year 2025/26, approved movements to reserves, and approved revised budget estimates for financial year 2026/27. The Board also approved progression of "Northern Local Centre Improvement" and "AMRC Start-up" to full approval and awarded grants, endorsed the submission of a proposal for "Apprenticeship Brokerage Pilot", and delegated authority for consideration of grant funding for "Free Courses for Jobs" and "Regional Investment Framework".

The Mayoral Combined Authority Board, on 15 September 2026, approved recommendations for the City Densification Fund. The Board noted the £85m government allocation, endorsed a programme approach, and agreed to progress priority schemes: Sheffield Moorfoot, Sheffield Station Campus, and Rotherham Gateway. Authority was delegated to the Section 73 Officer, in consultation with the Portfolio Holder for Economic Growth, to accept the fund allocation and enter into necessary funding agreements.
