Licensing Sub Committee A - Wednesday, 1st October, 2025 6.30 pm
The Islington Licensing Sub Committee A convened to review the premises licence for The Charlotte Despard, located at 17-19 Archway Road. After hearing from all parties, the committee decided against modifying or revoking the licence, deeming such actions disproportionate. However, the committee welcomed the undertaking of Amber Knight and Chris Sparks to transfer the licence solely into the name of Amber Knight, who is also the designated premise supervisor (DPS).
Homes and Communities Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 22nd September, 2025 7.30 pm
The Homes and Communities Scrutiny Committee met to discuss community safety, policing, housing repairs and homelessness in Islington. The committee received updates on community safety initiatives, progress towards compliance with Awaab's Law[^2], and the state of homelessness and temporary accommodation in the borough. They also heard a presentation from Streets Kitchen, a grassroots organisation working with the homeless.
Council - Thursday, 18th September, 2025 7.15 pm
Islington Council met on 18 September 2025, and voted to establish a twinning agreement with Azaria, a Palestinian town in East Jerusalem, as a gesture of friendship and solidarity. Councillors also approved updates to the council's constitution and Members' Allowances Scheme, and discussed a quarterly monitoring report.
Environment, Climate and Transport Scrutiny Committee - Thursday, 11th September, 2025 7.30 pm
The Environment, Climate Change and Transport Scrutiny Committee met to discuss household recycling rates and waste reduction, and to review the borough's progress towards its net zero carbon targets. Councillors agreed to a Scrutiny Initiation Document (SID) to investigate the plateauing of household recycling rates, and heard updates on climate action progress, including transport, building decarbonisation, and green initiatives. The committee also agreed to their work plan for the coming year.

The Licensing Sub Committee D was scheduled to convene to consider applications for premises licence variations. Councillor Clare Jeapes, Recycling Champion, was scheduled to chair the meeting.
