Special Meeting: Annual Budget and Council Tax Setting, Council - Thursday, 27th February, 2025 7.30 pm

The Licensing Sub-Committee met to determine an application for the grant of a new premises licence for St James's Food Store, 44 St James's Street in Walthamstow. The Sub-Committee decided to reject the application due to the applicant's close family ties to the previous licence holder, whose licence had been revoked due to serious breaches of the licensing objectives, and their view that, given the short time that had elapsed, the business was essentially being managed in the same manner.

The Licensing Sub-Committee considered an application by Mr Yasin Siddiqi to vary the premises licence of The Log Cabin, Whipps Cross Road, Leytonstone, E11 1NR. The Sub-Committee granted the application in part, allowing The Log Cabin to sell alcohol for consumption on the premises only between 12:00 and 21:00, Monday to Sunday. The Sub-Committee refused the request to extend the opening hours to 05:00.

The Licensing Sub-Committee met to consider an application for a new premises licence for Dawn to Dusk, a new Thai restaurant at 79 Station Road in Chingford. The sub-committee decided to grant the licence with the reduced hours that were agreed with the applicant.
