The Employment Committee of Hertfordshire County Council met on 30 July 2025 to discuss the 2025 pay review, and the recruitment process for the Director of Adult Care Services. The committee delegated authority to the Chief Executive Officer to manage the recruitment and appointment of both a temporary interim and permanent Director of Adult Social Care (DAS). The minutes from the meeting held on 29 November 2024 were approved.

The Hertfordshire County Council met to discuss a range of issues, including political proportionality, traffic congestion, youth justice, and local government reorganisation, and ultimately voted to continue exploring options for local government reorganisation, while also agreeing to re-establish a youth parliament. The council also paid tribute to former Councillor Alan Plancy, MBE, who recently passed away.

The Resources and Performance Cabinet Panel met to discuss the council's financial performance, future plans for adult care services in Stevenage, and performance monitoring reports. The panel unanimously recommended that the cabinet approve the use of £15.7 million of contingency funds, the approval of £19.3 million of carry-forward requests, the release of £5.6 million of reserves, the creation of a £3 million children's social care reform reserve, the total contribution of £5.7 million to the invest to transform reserve, and capital re-programming of £25.7 million. The panel also recommended that the cabinet agree to appropriate land at Pin Green, Stevenage, for a new adult day care centre.

Health Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 1 July 2025 10.00 am

The Hertfordshire Health Scrutiny Committee convened to discuss patient experiences across Hertfordshire, with a focus on GP practices. The committee heard evidence from the Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care Board (HWE ICB) and agreed to a series of recommendations including improvements to digital inclusion, clarification of structural changes to the ICB, improvements to patient record interoperability, and improvements to the complaints process. The committee also requested an overview of NHS services in Hertfordshire and sought clarification on the role of carer champions.

Resources and Performance Cabinet Panel - Thursday, 19 June 2025 2.00 pm

The Resources and Performance Cabinet Panel met to discuss the proposed marketing of County Hall for alternative uses and the relocation of democratic meetings to the Stevenage Campus. The panel voted in favour of recommending to the cabinet that they agree to market the County Hall site for alternative uses, delegate approval of the detailed marketing strategy and materials, and approve the creation of a Council Chamber and Committee room at the Stevenage Campus.
