The Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee met to discuss school budgets, the annual education performance report, and investment in the education estate. Key decisions included agreeing to consult on the sustainable growth of Welsh-medium secondary education and to proceed with the federation of St Mellons Church in Wales Primary School with The Saints Federation.

The Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee is scheduled to meet to discuss the proposed extension of the age range at Ysgol Gymraeg Coed-Y-Gof and the provision for children and young people with additional learning needs (ALN). The meeting will also cover the minutes from the previous meeting and a review of the way forward.

The Cardiff Council met on 27 November 2025, and approved sending the Replacement Local Development Plan to the Welsh Government for independent examination. Councillors also agreed to launch a public consultation on introducing a visitor levy in the city.
