The Melton Council met to discuss and approve the Melton Mowbray Town Centre Design Guidance Supplementary Planning Document (SPD), aiming to enhance the town centre's appeal and functionality, and also formally recognised the sacrifice and bravery of armed forces during the war with Japan 80 years ago. The committee delegated authority to the Director of Place and Prosperity to consider consultation responses and amend the draft policy as needed, in consultation with the committee chair.

The Melton Council Planning Committee met on Thursday, 31 July 2025, to discuss planning applications for a solar farm on Stygate Lane, Pickwell and reserved matters relating to a housing development at Sysonby Farm, Nottingham Road, Melton Mowbray. The committee approved both applications, subject to conditions.
