About

The Employment Committee is responsible for key human resources decisions concerning the council's senior staff. It appoints and dismisses Chief Officers, excluding the Chief Executive, and handles disciplinary and capability matters for these roles. The committee also makes recommendations to the full Council regarding the appointment and dismissal of the Chief Executive and Statutory Officers, following specific procedures. Furthermore, it hears appeals from Chief Officers on disciplinary actions, capability issues, grievances, and harassment claims, and addresses grievances against the Chief Executive.
