The Melton Council met to discuss and approve the Melton Mowbray Town Centre Design Guidance Supplementary Planning Document (SPD), aiming to enhance the town centre's appeal and functionality, and also formally recognised the sacrifice and bravery of armed forces during the war with Japan 80 years ago. The Licensing Committee (Taxi and General) reviewed the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy, supporting an 8-week public consultation for the 2026 policy, and received a performance report on the work carried out by the Licensing Team. The committee delegated authority to the Director of Place and Prosperity to consider consultation responses and amend the draft policy as needed, in consultation with the committee chair.
Planning Committee - Thursday, 28th August, 2025 6.00 pm
The Melton Council Planning Committee met on Thursday, 31 July 2025, to discuss planning applications for a solar farm on Stygate Lane, Pickwell and reserved matters relating to a housing development at Sysonby Farm, Nottingham Road, Melton Mowbray. The committee approved both applications, subject to conditions.
