The Conciliation Sub-Committee provides a function to resolve disputes between Aberdeenshire Council and its recognised trade unions when other methods have failed. It considers and resolves issues affecting teaching and non-teaching staff related to terms and conditions (excluding pay), employment legislation, organisational change, personnel policies, grading, and trade union facilities. The committee also addresses health, safety, welfare, consultation arrangements, housing, and indemnification procedures. It is an eight-member group, with the addition of two trade union representatives, and the Chair of the Education and Children's Services Committee may also be a member for disputes involving teaching staff.
