About
The Standards Committee promotes and maintains high standards of conduct for elected and co-opted members of the authority. It is responsible for hearing and determining complaints made against these members, as referred by the Council's Monitoring Officer. The committee's establishment and membership are governed by specific sections of the Local Government Act 1972, the Localism Act 2011, and the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
