The Planning Committee has 12 members plus 9 substitutes and is one of the Council’s Regulatory Committees, which are bodies which have decision-making powers. Membership of the Planning Committee is decided at Annual Council. Planning applications may be decided by officers or the Planning Committee, which meets every four weeks. The meetings of the Planning Committee are open to the public. Planning policy issues, such as the Local Plan, are the responsibility of the Cabinet and Council.
