Planning Committee

The Brentwood Planning Committee is responsible for town and country planning and development control functions. It determines planning applications that are not delegated to officers, considers planning obligations, and handles all aspects of planning enforcement, including matters related to listed buildings and conservation areas.

The committee also oversees the delivery and monitoring of the adopted Local Plan, ensuring the council meets its statutory planning obligations. It makes decisions on Tree Preservation Orders, control of advertisements, revocation of planning permissions, and matters concerning public rights of way. The committee may also advise the Scrutiny Committee on relevant matters.
