To approve policy following consultation and its recommendations
Decision
RESOLVED to:
1) Note the findings of the public consultation and the changes made to the policy in response to stakeholder feedback, as summarised in the Consultation section of this report and detailed in Appendix 3;
2) Approve the amended School Travel Policy for children of Compulsory School Age as set out in Appendix 4, for implementation from September 2027;
3) Approve the amended Post 16 Travel Support Policy Statement as set out in Appendix 5, for implementation from September 2027;
4) Approve an increase in parental contribution amounts in the Post 16 Transport Policy Statement for implementation from September 2026 in line with inflation; and
5) Agree that route assessments be carried out by qualified officers and that the decision on whether a route was available to walk be made by the Cabinet Member responsible for SEND and Inclusion.
