Purpose

To update Cabinet with regard to the progress of the new Primary School at Drakelow Park and to seek Cabinet approval for the allocation of Capital funding from the Children’s Services Capital Basic Need budget 2023/24 to enable the school to be equipped with furniture, IT equipment and teaching resources at full capacity of a 2 form entry provision.

Decision

RESOLVED to:

1)       Note the new school Drakelow Park Flying High Academy was now built by the Developer and scheduled to open in September 2026;

2)       Approve the allocation of £525,000 from the Children’s Services Capital budget for initial set up costs of furniture, ICT and resources; and

3)       Note the £525,000 will include an element for fixed furniture installation that was not provided as part of the developer build.
