About

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee examines the Council's policies and decisions to ensure effectiveness and accountability.

It gathers evidence to inform policy development and reviews decisions or actions taken by the Council or its Cabinet. The committee can make reports and recommendations to the Council or Cabinet. It also has the power to 'call-in' Cabinet decisions before they are implemented, allowing for their reconsideration, while balancing accountability with efficient decision-making.
