The Appointments Committee is responsible for key personnel decisions concerning senior council officers. It recommends appointments and dismissals for the Chief Executive/Head of Paid Service to the full Council. The committee also determines disciplinary matters for senior officers, excluding dismissal, and makes recommendations regarding their dismissal. It directly appoints and dismisses other senior roles, including statutory directors and executive directors, and sets the terms of employment for all council employees, including pension discretions.
