About

The Housing and Homelessness Policy and Accountability Committee scrutinises the council's housing services and efforts to reduce homelessness. It has the powers of an Overview and Scrutiny Committee, allowing it to review the impact of council decisions and policies, monitor spending, and make recommendations to the Cabinet. The committee's scope covers all aspects of housing, including privately owned, council, and housing association properties, as well as sheltered and supported housing, and the provision of homes for residents. It also leads the scrutiny of the relevant Cabinet Member(s).
