The Children and Young People's Scrutiny Panel examines the effectiveness of council services and policies related to children and young people in Haringey. It reviews decisions and performance of the Cabinet and officers, and scrutinises the council's progress against its objectives and targets in areas such as adoption, fostering, education, safeguarding, and youth services.
The panel can question council members and officers, gather evidence, and make recommendations to the Cabinet or Council. Its findings and recommendations must first be approved by the Overview and Scrutiny Committee before being referred to the Cabinet or Council.
