About

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee holds the Cabinet decision-makers to account and contributes to the Council's long-term policy development. It monitors decisions made by the Cabinet, Cabinet Leads, and officers, including those not yet implemented. Non-Cabinet Councillors can request the committee to review these decisions to ensure they are appropriate, and the committee can recommend reconsideration.

The committee's work is guided by the Council's Constitution and the Overview and Scrutiny Handbook, which provides information for councillors, staff, the public, and partner organisations.
