The Governance and Audit Committee provides independent oversight of Kent County Council's governance, risk management, financial controls, and audit arrangements. It ensures these systems are effective and meet recommended practices.
The committee reviews internal and external audit reports, monitors financial reporting, and assesses value for money. It also oversees the Council's counter-fraud measures, partnerships, and company interests, reporting its findings and recommendations to the full Council.
