About

The Licensing Committee is responsible for the Council's functions under the Licensing Act 2003 and the Gambling Act 2005. It reviews strategy and licensing policy, making recommendations to the full Council. The committee also holds reserve powers to handle licensing and regulation matters if a Neighbourhood Committee is unable to do so. Members of the Licensing Committee also form Sub-Committees that regularly determine applications for alcohol, entertainment, and gambling licences.
