The Schools Forum is responsible for consulting on and making decisions about the local authority's school funding formula and aspects of the Schools Budget. It advises on the council's school funding formula, specified issues relating to the Schools Budget, and service contracts over a certain value. The Forum also decides on proposals concerning special educational needs, transport costs, and termination of employment costs from the Schools Budget. It comprises representatives from the local education sector and typically meets three times annually.
