About

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee is Lambeth Council's main scrutiny body, responsible for reviewing the council's functions and the work of other public service providers, assessing their impact on the local community. It examines matters affecting the economic, social, and environmental well-being of those in the borough and coordinates the council's overall scrutiny activities.

The committee can establish specific review commissions to investigate particular issues identified in its work programme or arising from its meetings. Its role is to provide oversight and make recommendations, rather than direct executive decisions.
