About

The Cabinet is responsible for carrying out all of the Council's functions that are not assigned to other parts of the Council by law or constitution. It is composed of the Leader and between two and nine other councillors appointed by the Leader.

The Cabinet leads the community planning process, prepares the Council's policies and budget, and makes in-year decisions on resources and priorities. It also forms partnerships with other organisations to address local needs. The Leader can delegate executive functions to the Cabinet, individual Cabinet members, or other bodies.
