The Newham Pensions Board assists the London Borough of Newham as the Scheme Manager in ensuring the effective and efficient governance and administration of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for the Newham Pension Fund. It helps secure compliance with LGPS regulations, other relevant legislation, and requirements from the Pensions Regulator. The Board does not make decisions, as this authority is reserved for the Administering Authority and Pensions Committee, but it reviews the governance of decisions made by these bodies and can make recommendations. The Board's remit is to support the Scheme Manager in managing the pension fund effectively and efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
