The Newham Standards Committee promotes and maintains high standards of conduct among councillors and co-opted members. It considers alleged breaches of the Council's Code of Conduct, which applies to all members when acting officially. The committee also advises the Council on adopting and revising the Code of Conduct and related protocols. Its aim is to help the Council provide excellent local government for the borough's residents.
