Audit Committee

The Audit Committee provides independent assurance that the risk management and associated control environment of the council meets adequate standards.  It also provides independent scrutiny of the authority's financial and non-financial performance to the extent that it affects the authority's exposure to risk and weakens the control environment; and oversees the financial reporting process.
