Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee

The Housing Overview and Scrutiny Committee examines the effectiveness of the Cabinet's decisions regarding housing services in Shropshire. This includes affordable and social housing, homelessness, housing registers, allocations, and the management of housing by Cornovii and Shropshire Town and Rural Housing (STAR).

The committee also scrutinises planning policy related to housing, including the Local Plan and Place Plans, as well as planning development management and developer contributions like the Community Infrastructure Levy and Section 106 agreements. It makes reports and recommendations to help achieve the council's ambition for people to live in safe, inclusive places with homes that meet their needs.
