The Audit, Governance and Standards Committee provides independent assurance on the council's governance, risk management, and control systems. It scrutinises the council's financial and non-financial performance, particularly where it impacts risk and controls, and oversees the financial reporting process. The committee also reviews the treasury management strategy and policies. A key function is to promote and maintain high standards of conduct among councillors and other appointed members.
