The Stepping Hill Area Committee represents the wards of Hazel Grove, Offerton, and Norbury & Woodsmoor. It has powers to consider and determine certain planning applications, with the ability for councillors to call up applications typically handled by planning officers. Members of the public can speak for up to three minutes for and against planning applications. The committee also administers £3000 per ward for community project funding and holds an Open Forum for local groups to present issues affecting the community. The public can ask questions on matters within the committee's powers, excluding legal or confidential issues.
